ABOUT MADEINTYO

MadeinTYO (aka Malcom Davis) is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His stage name comes from being the child of an army family and a childhood moving between Hawaii, California, Texas, New York, and Virginia, before spending the rest of his teenage years in Tokyo, Japan. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia to live with his older brother, a rapper and DJ who goes by the name 24hrs and is best known for his 2017 single "What You Like" (featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Wiz Khalifa).

CAREER

2016-present: Breakthrough

"Uber Everywhere", MadeinTYO’s debut single, was released on February 26, 2016 on Commission Music and Private Club Records. The single peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been certified double platinum in the US. The song also hit number 11 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. The official remix of "Uber Everywhere" features American rapper Travis Scott.

"I Want" (featuring 2 Chainz) and "Skateboard P", his next two singles, were certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, respectively. A remix of "Skateboard P" featuring rapper Big Sean was released on November 4, 2016.

You Are Forgiven, his debut mixtape, was released on April 27, 2016 and re-released on iTunes on August 19. It became his first release to hit the Billboard 200 and it reached number 33 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. Late that year, he released the EP 24hrs in Tokyo – a collaboration with his brother. MadeinTYO was one of the top five most-streamed new artists of 2016 on Spotify, according to Business Insider.

In 2017, MadeinTYO was selected for that year's XXL freshman class list. He also released his second EP, True’s World.

 "Ned Flanders" featuring ASAP Ferg was released on June 1, 2018, as the lead single from his debut album. The album, Sincerely, Tokyo, was released on October 26, 2018, and debuted in the top 100 of the US Billboard 200. It features guest appearances from 24HRS, Roy Woods, Gunna, ASAP Ferg, Blood Orange, and Tinashe.

MadeinTYO’s second studio album, Never Forgotten, was released on October 30, 2020. It features the singles "Money Up" with Toro Y Moi and "BET Uncut" featuring Chance the Rapper and Smino.
