Discover by The Neptunes’ Pharrell Williams, the duo made their breakthrough in 2002 with their debut album Lord Willin’.
2010-2011: Solo career beginnings
After they had released their third album, Clipse decided to go on an indefinite hiatus in order to concentrate on their respective solo careers. In September 2010, not long after, Pusha T was signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label. He made his first label appearance on the track "Runaway" from West’s album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Mind and he premiered the song with him at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, 2010. He also appeared on several tracks from West’s GOOD Fridays series and featured on Swizz Beatz's Monster Mondays series; Lloyd Banks' H.F.M. 2 (Hunger for More 2) and Tabi Bonney's Fresh, respectively. That December, he signed an exclusive deal with NUE Agency.
In February 2011, Pusha T launched his debut single "My God" on Funkmaster Flex’s show on New York City's Hot 97. In august, it was announced that he had signed a solo record deal with Def Jam. November 2011 brought the release of his debut solo EP, Fear of God II: Let Us Pray. The album debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200, as well as reaching number 10 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number eight on Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart. Fear of God II was preceded by the singles "Trouble on My Mind" featuring Tyler, the Creator, and "Amen" featuring verses from Kanye West and Young Jeezy.
In late 2011, Pusha made a guest appearance on English pop artist Pixie Lott's track "What Do You Take Me For?" from her second studio album Young Foolish Happy, which was a hit in the UK, peaking at number 10 on the UK Singles Chart.
2012-2014: My Name is My Name

The same month also saw him release "Pain" featuring Future, the lead single from his debut album. In December, he released the single "Blocka" featuring Travis Scott and Popcaan from his Wrath of Caine mixtape, which was released on January 28, 2013.

2014-2018: King Push – Darkest Before Dawn
November 2014 brought the release of the single "Lunch Money", produced by Kanye West.
One year later, Pusha T announced that he had been appointed as the new president of GOOD Music. It was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards and was praised by hip-hop veterans Nas and P. Diddy, who called it "a classic album" and "a modern-day masterpiece".
In February 2020, Pusha T started a new record label, Heir Wave Media Group, to sign and develop artists from the Virginia area. During this time, he remained the president of GOOD Music. That year, Heir Wave Music signed Kahri 1k, Shaolinn, Leeto, and WhyNotDuce.
