CAREER

2017-2018: Yungblud

April 2017 brought the release of Yungblud’s debut single, "King Charles". He followed with "I Love You, Will You Marry Me" that September and "Tin Pan Boy" that November. His self-titled debut EP, which featured all three singles, was released on January 19, 2018. On the same day as the EP release, he released the single "Polygraph Eyes" (also on the EP), a song about sexual assault against girls.

2018-2019: 21st Century Liability and The Underrated Youth

From March 12 through 30, Yungblud supported K.Flay on her Everywhere is Somewhere Tour.

On July 6, 2018, he released his debut album 21st Century Liability via Locomotion Recordings, Geffen Records, and Interscope Records. The album earned silver certification in the UK and launched the singles "21st Century Liability", "Psychotic Kids", "California", and lead single "Medication". The following month, he released Yungblud (Unplugged) – a seven-track EP containing acoustic versions of songs from 21st Century Liability. August also saw the release of the music video for the song "Falling Skies" featuring Charlotte Lawrence, which was included on the season two soundtrack of Netflix's series 13 Reasons Why. Beginning on September 20, 2018 and ending on April 20, 2019, Yungblud embarked on a tour supporting the release of 21st Century Liability. The tour saw Arrested Youth joining his American dates and Carlie Hanson joining the UK and Europe dates.

He released the non-album singles "Loner" and "11 Minutes" with Halsey and Travis Barker in Januray and February 2019, respectively. "11 Minutes" was Yungblud’s first track to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. It was certified gold by the RIAA and reached number five on the Hot Rock and Alternative Songs Chart, as well as hitting the top spot on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 singles chart. He released his first live album Yungblud (Live in Atlanta) March 22, 2019.

Yungblud’s Don’t Wanna Be a Loner Tour was from May 3 – August 31, 2019. At the end of May, he released his first single from his upcoming The Underrated Youth EP, "Parents". This was followed in June by "I Think I'm Okay", a collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker. On 26 July 2019, his cover of Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle" was featured on the soundtrack for Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.

Another collaboration came in October when Yungblud released "Original Me" featuring Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons. On October 19, he released his second EP, The Underrated Youth. On Halloween 2019, he released the music video for the song  "Die a Little" from the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack. "Tongue Tied" with Marshmello and Blackbear was released on November 13, 2019, and reached number three on the Hot Rock and Alternative Songs chart.

2019-present: Weird!

Yungblud had intended to embark upon a tour of Asia in March 2020, but the tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In April, he released the single "Weird!" and in June he released "Strawberry Lipstick". Both singles feature on his second studio album, Weird!, which was released on December 4, 2020. The album also features the singles "God Save Me, but Don't Drown Me Out", "Cotton Candy", "Mars" and "Acting Like That" featuring Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart.

On 18 February 2021, Yungblud’s live cover of  David Bowie's "Life on Mars?" (recorded for the online event "A Bowie Celebration: Just for One Day") was chosen as a soundtrack for NASA's Perseverance rover landing on Mars.
