Initially, the scenic 3,000-capacity venue was named Champs de Brionne and was owned, along with its adjoining winery, by Dr. Vincent Bryan and Carol Bryan. The venue opened in 1986 and by 1993, it had expanded to accommodate 19,000, and since then it has grown to be one of the country’s most popular outdoor music venues.

Not only is The Gorge known for drawing some of the biggest artists in the music industry, but it has also held a large number of popular music festivals, including  Area Festival, Creation Festival, Dave Matthews Band Caravan, H.O.R.D.E. Festival, Honda Civic Tour, Identity Festival, Lilith Fair, Lollapalooza, Ozzfest, Paradiso Festival, Rock the Bells Festival, Sasquatch! THE GORGE RULES

No outside alcohol is permitted into the venue – guests are to use the beverage stalls and vendors provided by The Gorge. Empty plastic drinking water containers and one factory sealed, 20 oz water bottle will be allowed in, but no factory-sealed soda bottles. Food must be placed in a clear plastic gallon-sized bag. Large, hard-shelled coolers or ice chests will not be permitted. All bags are subject to visual search. Laser pointers will not be permitted.

THE GORGE AMPHITHEATRE SEATING CHART

The Gorge has over 20,000 seats and spectacular views of both the stage and the surrounding scenery, which is what makes it so popular! There are two main types of seating at The Gorge: Lawn/General Admission and Reserved. If you like being close to the action, you can stand in The Pit, right next to the front of the stage! For General Admission/Lawn customers, it is highly recommended to come an hour or two early if you want to claim your spot. For those after a next-level experience, Box Seats provide extra room, waiter service, access to a covered separate bar and food area, and additional bathrooms.

Parking information

Parking at The Gorge is easy and convenient, with two options for guests: General Parking or Star Parking. There are several General Parking lots available, opening at different times depending on the event, but four hours before showtime on average. For those looking for reserved spaces closer to the venue, Star Parking is available for an extra $30. Accessible parking is available near the venue for disabled customers.

Public Transit

Public transport is limited when it comes to traveling to The Gorge. However, one option is to use the ride-share bus option, Rally Bus: https://rally.co/gorge-amphitheater

Camping at The Gorge

Most concert-goers who want to stay near The Gorge choose to make use of their campsite. For the majority of shows, the venue provides access to the campsite from 3pm the day before the show, although this does vary from event to event. Camping concert tickets are available to buy for most shows. The Gorge camping ground provides water, hot showers, portable restrooms (with flush toilets available in Premier and Terraces only), a convenience store, as well as 24 hour security. First aid stations, a convenience store, food and drink stands and ATMs are also available for guests’ convenience. Guests must adhere to the Quiet Time rule between 2am and 8am.
