ABOUT ALEXANDER 23
Born Alexander Glantz on January 23, 1995, Alexander 23 is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and record producer. Raised in Deerfield, Illinois – a suburb of Chicago – Alexander was inspired to learn to play guitar aged eight, after watching his father play. As a teenager, he continued to learn music, picking up bass, piano and drums.
Having enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania on an engineering course, he left to pursue his career in music, moving to Los Angeles. He began songwriting and producing for other performers and quickly decided to set out as an artist in his own right.
2019-present: I’m Sorry I Love You and Oh No, Not Again!
Deciding upon the moniker Alexander 23 as a reference to his age when he began writing for himself, his birth date, and Michael Jordan’s baseball number, Gantz signed to Interscope in 2019. His debut EP, I’m Sorry I Love You, was released in October 2019, preceded by five more singles: "When I Die", "Mars", "Sad", "High School", and "See You Later".
After the release of I’m Sorry I Love You, Alexander collaborated with artists such as Selena Gomez, Jeremy Zucker, Chelsea Cutler, and mxmtoon, as well as writing, producing, and engineering songs for a number of other artists such as Role Model, Olivia Rodrigo, AJ Mitchell and Louis The Child. His final solo single of 2019, "Another Summer Night Without You", was featured on the soundtrack for the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.
