ABOUT CHRISTIAN NODAL

Mexican singer Christian Nodal was born and raised in Sonora, Mexico. A musical child, he began singing at the age of four and later taught himself to play guitar and piano. At 13 years old, Nodal began writing songs and posting videos of him performing them to social media.

CAREER

In 2016, he caught the attention of Fonovisa's A&R department, who signed him to their label. That summer, he featured as a vocalist in the video for Los Plebes del Rancho's hit "No Pasa de Moda," which racked up over 22 million hits.

Nodal#s debut single, "Adiós Amor," was released in January 2017. The track reached number one on the Top 20 General Mexican Songs Chart and number two on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart in the United States. That June, he collaborated with Spanish singer David Bisbal on the track "Probablemente," which reached number two on the Top 20 General Mexican Songs Chart and number twenty on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart. Nodal released his debut studio album, Me Dejé Llevar, that August. The album reached number two on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in the United States and number seven on the Mexican Albums Chart and was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album at the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, while "Probablemente", won for Best Regional Mexican Song. Nodal also received a nomination for Best New Artist at the awards ceremony.

In 2018, Nodal joined the Aguilar family (Pepe, Antonio, Ángela, and Leonardo) on their Jaripeo Sin Fronteras Tour. That May, he released the EP Lo Mas Nuevo. One year later, his second studio album, Ahora, was released, reaching number seven on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. It was also certified platinum (Latin) by the RIAA.

Nodal’s next release was a seven-track EP titled AYAYAY!, which was released in May 2020 and re-released as AYAYAY! (Deluxe), a full album, that September. There was also a super-deluxe version of the album, which features a duet with Angela Aguilar. The EP was nominated for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album at the 21st Latin Grammy Awards, while the title track was nominated for Best Regional Mexican Song. The following year, the super deluxe version was nominated for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album and the track "Aquí Abajo" won Best Regional Mexican Song at the 22nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Both the EP and the super deluxe version were nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano) in 2021 and 2022, respectively. The EP was also nominated for Regional Mexican Album of the Year at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards. AYAYAY! was certified gold in both United States and Mexico and peaked at number eight on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and number one on the Regional Mexican Albums chart – Nodal’s third number one on the chart.
