Samia Concerts Tickets

Described by NME as "an exhilarating soundtrack to young adulthood’s existential angst," Samia's debut album The Baby put her on the map as an emotionally dextrous indie-rock dream. Drawing comparison to artists like Mitski and Pheobe Bridgers, she has Sad Girl down in a refreshing way.

ABOUT SAMIA

Samia Najimy Finnerty, known by the mononym Samia, is a singer-songwriter from New York City. The daughter of Lebanese-American actress Kathy Najimy and American actor Dan Finnerty, she attended York Preparatory School and studied at The New School.

CAREER

In 2017, Samia was a co-recipient of the Obie Award for Best Ensemble for her performance in Sarah DeLappe's Off-Broadway play The Wolves. That same year, she released her first three singles: "Welcome to Eden," "Someone Tell the Boys," and "The Night Josh Tillman Listened to My Song." She released several tracks throughout 2018 and 2019. In 2019, she toured with Cold War Kids, opened a show for Soccer Mommy, and played festivals including SXSW and Firefly. She also released her debut EP, Ode to Artifice, that August.

In April 2020, she released the single  "Is There Something in the Movies?" This was followed by the track "Fit n Full," alongside the announcement of her debut album. Two more songs from the album, "Big Wheel" and "Stellate," were released together in July 2020, preceding the release of "Triptych" in August 2020. Samia released The Baby, her debut album, on August 28, 2020 to positive reviews.

The following January, The Baby Reimagined was released, featuring remixes and cover versions of the debut by artists like Field Medic, Palehound, and Bartees Strange. Scout, an EP containing three original songs: "As You Are", "Show Up" and "Elephant" as well as a cover of When In Romes' "The Promise" featuring Jelani Aryeh, was released on July 23, 2021 and was once again met with positive reviews.

Throughout 2022, Samia was Maggie Rogers’ special guest support act on the European leg of her Feral Joy Tour. She  released the single "Kill Her Freak Out" and announced her upcoming second album, Honey in September 2022. The album itself was released on January 27, 2023.
