Born and raised in Island Park, New York, comedian Tim Dillon has known performance from a young age, landing his first acting role in 1994 aged nine in Sesame Street. However, this was short-lived – he only appeared on the show a couple of times.
Dillon is particularly known for his large social media following (particularly on Instagram and Facebook, where he has millions of followers), his podcast appearances, and his sharp comic timing.
2010-present: Stand-Up and The Tim Dillon Show podcast
Around 2010, when working as a tour guide in New York City, Dillon decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy. He worked the circuit for several years and in 2012 one of his stand-up videos went viral. An appearance at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal in 2016 saw him named as one of "10 Comedians You Need to Know" the following year.
2016 also saw Dillon start the Tim Dillon Podcast (originally known as Tim Dillon is Going to Hell), which is a comedic video podcast that he hosts with the backup of his friend and producer Ben Avery who is also on camera. Covering American cultural issues, the entertainment industry, and politics, as well as thoughts from his own life, the podcast often features guests. Jeff Garlin, Gavin McInnes, Candace Owens, Anna Khachiyan, Yannis Pappas, Shane Gillis, Sal Vulcano, Andrew Schulz, Lil Xan, Ray Kump, and Whitney Webb have all appeared on the show. One of the most popular podcasts on Patreon, where Dillon releases exclusive audio content to subscribers, it is also hugely popular on YouTube, with over 309 thousand subscribers and 35 million views as of June 2021.
In addition to his own show, Dillon has made appearances on The Joe Rogan Experience, The Fighter and the Kid, This Past Weekend, Legion of Skanks, Lex Fridman Podcast, The Real Ass Podcast, Cum Town, Your Mom's House, H3 Podcast, Red Scare, and The Megyn Kelly Show. For a time, he was also co-host of the Real Ass Podcast spin-off podcast Bastard Radio, alongside Luis J. Gomez and Nick Mullen. He is a regular guest on Whitney Cummings and the History Hyenas.
