Briar Street Theatre Seating

The theater has 625 seats and all of it are designed to be in perfect view of the stage. It is believed that the layout is extremely flexible in terms of guest seating and the conversion to film as well as for TV production.

The dimensions of the Briar Street Theater’s stage is a forestage of 38’w x 20′, a width of 36’4″, a depth of 32′, and a height of 23′ to the grid. The theater is also wheelchair accessible and offers closed-circuit headsets for free.

The first 5 rows are labeled the “Poncho Seats”. Ponchos are provided by the theatre to protect the audience members from the elements coming from the stage. We highly recommend patrons to sit in these rows to gain the full experience of the Blue Man Group show.

Venue Rules

Below is a guideline for all patrons visiting Briar Street Theatre:

» No ticket refunds or exchanges.
» No dress code, just be comfortable and appropriate for the occasion
» All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
» The seating procedure for latecomers varies by seat section. Generally speaking, late patrons will be held at the back of the theatre, where they can watch the show through the first song. They are then escorted directly to their seats by an usher.
» Smoking is strictly prohibited
» No outside food or beverages.
» Patrons seeking to bring in their own food or drink because the food or drink is necessary for medical reasons shall be permitted to bring such food or drink into a theatre.
» Cloakroom service is available to patrons during the winter months.
» Managers are on duty during all performances
» All bags will be inspected upon arrival. No bags or luggage will be checked.
» Do not leave your personal bags (purses, backpacks) unattended while in the theatre.
» Firearms are not permitted in the theatre.
» The use of cameras, recording devices, cell phones, beepers, and other electronic devices during the performance is prohibited.
» Everyone attending a performance must have a ticket. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.
» Wheelchair and mobility-impaired seating is intended for patrons with mobility disabilities.

Parking is available for $15 cash in the lot adjacent to the theater.
To avoid delays, it’s probably best to arrive at least 30 minutes before show time.

If you are driving a bus because you’re running a tour or you simply like driving buses, it will cost $25 per bus for the caravan set.

Hotels Nearby

Chicago is filled with hotels but every hotel seems to be really pricey. We have only found two hotels that scored above 3.5 stars out of 5 on Google Maps and costs below $211 a night for two guests. These hotels are Chicago Getaway Hostel and Inn at Lincoln Park.

However, if you are willing to spend about $350/night, we would strongly suggest that you pick City Suites Chicago which is located about 0.3 miles away from the Briar Street Theatre.
