When Whitewater Amp opened its gates in 2007, no one could have expected it’d grow into a nationally recognized and iconic live music venue. But it had all the elements it needed to succeed with a pristine and picturesque view of the Guadalupe River and a prime location nestled below the canyon bluffs. And with its close connection with Texas Hill Country, it’s a gorgeous venue that has led to many timeless memories for the nearly two decades.
The venue often says that it’s not just another live music venue, and that’s a fact. It’s got an out-of-this world outdoor music experience that isn’t like other outdoor Amphitheaters. The audience stands from three sections including two wings sections and a massive general admission area in the center. And this unique design makes it popular with Texans and tourists alike. It’s, in fact, become part of a summer tradition and a welcome respite from the challenges of day to day life.
Over five-thousand guests come to see the hottest shows from the most legendary performers in a variety of genres. All beneath the stars in what has to be one of the most intimate outdoor venues in Texas.
Ever since the venue opened, it’s become famous for winning multiple awards and awards nominations. This includes being nominated for several Academy of Country Music Venue of the Year Awards including Outdoor (2022) and Medium Capacity (2018). It’s dedication to improving its experience for artists and concert goers has also been recognized with several big name stars more than happy to play multiple concerts on its stage. These famous names include: Willie Nelson, Ryan Bingham, Miranda Lambert, The Avett Brothers, among others.
But what is it like to spend a day at Whitewater Amp?
The first thing you’ll notice is that the crowds are very loud, joyful, and enthusiastic lovers of excellent music. From the moment you show up, you’ll feel a charge in the air that is undeniably electrifying because everyone is there to have a great time. The free parking and comfortable atmosphere also adds to the experience, since even during rainy seasons, there’s plenty of warm cheer and good vibes to be had. And plenty of ponchos on sale for the cheap if you need it.
Overall, Whitewater Amp has the cool vibe of the greatest outdoor venues, the excellent concerts and event list from venues that have been around for twice as long, and undeniable Texas charm you can’t find anywhere else.

Whitewater Amp is a massive venue with space for over 5,000 guests across multiple seating areas. Besides VIP or Box seating, most of the seat availability is in the central standing room only space in front of the stage. This standing room only space is general admission first-come, first-serve so guests wanting to get closer to the stage should arrive early so they can get to the front before anyone else.
On the outside of this section are the wings seats which are often standing room only or general admission as well for most shows. This means that guests wanting to avoid the crowds that can often form in the main space will want to get to these spaces early. Because once the wings are full, no one else will be allowed admittance.
There is limited room for wheelchair guests and one companion to be welcomed. This seating is strictly limited so once they are full up, no one else will be allowed in. Additionally, the venue cannot reserve these seats for any reason. So guests with mobility needs will want to arrive early so they can claim their spots before they fill up.
Whitewater Amp would like all guests to take a moment to read the rules below. These rules are intended to keep everyone safe and ensure that everyone has a great time during their visit. Failure to follow these rules may result in expulsion without refund. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Whitewater Amp at 830.964.3800.

Guests with diabetes may bring in snacks. Please check in with a member of the Front Gate team. We recommend bringing a small soft-sided cooler to help keep your insulin cool.
