ABOUT WHETHAN

Whethan (formerly Whethin) is the stage name of Chicago-based DJ and music producer Ethan Snoreck.

He first took an interest in music around grade 6 or 7, when he began rapping with his friends and classmates and then began listening to artists like  Daft Punk, Skrillex, and Deadmau5. Whilst attending Carl Sandberg High School in Illinois, Whethan began working on music, initially releasing under his given name. At the age of 16, he was recognized as the youngest ever producer to release a record on Australian EDM label, Future Classic. He then caught the attention of Skrillex, who began to champion his music.

CAREER

In 2016, Whethan released three singles: "Can't Hide" featuring Ashe, "When I’m Down" with Oliver Tree, and "Savage" with Flux Pavilion and Max.

The following year, he released further collaborations with Oliver Tree, as well as collaborations with Charli XCX, Mascolo, Elohim, and Opia. That May, he briefly broke from touring with The Chainsmokers in order to attend his graduation.

In 2018, Whethan collaborated with Dua Lipa on the song "High", which was featured in the film Fifty Shades Freed. He also released singles featuring Broods, Oh Wonder, and Honne.

Whethan released "Win You Over," a collaboration with Bearson and SOAK, in early 2019. This was followed by "Let Me Take You" (with Jeremih) and "Summer Luv (with the Knocks featuring Crystal Fighters).

2020 saw the release of his debut studio album, Fantasy, which featured guest appearances from STRFKR, the Wombats, Grouplove, and The Front Bottoms. He followed in 2021 with "Warning Signs" (featuring Kevin George), "Think You're Right" (featuring Ericdoa and Glaive), and "2 MUCH" (feat. Jasiah & KA$HDAMI).

Whethan co-wrote the single "High" with The Chainsmokers in 2022 and co-wrote and co-produced much of their album, So Far, So Good. 2022 also saw the release of his second studio album, Midnight.
