History of The Mizner Park Amp

The venue first opened in November 2002 to provide a place for cultural enrichment, arts education, and to add to the social scene around Boca Raton. Since the inaugural year, the venue has held countless events that have entertained more than one million people. 

As you can guess, this has earned the venue a fast place in the hearts of the local citizens which led to October 2010, when the city of Boca Raton took over the operations and ownership of the Amp.

Once the city took over, they organized funds to keep the venue as up to date as possible with expanded facilities, improved technology, and all the extras and amenities required to make it an attractive destination for musicians, performers, and other top-selling acts across the country. But even with this expansion, it still maintains its heart and has become a place where visitors can expect to see community events, city events, holiday events, festivals and fairs, as well as commercial concert events.

Who can use the Amphitheater?

Although the City of Boca Raton owns and operates the venue, it is offered for rent by private and non-profit organizations for a variety of functions. This means that its fully packed event calendar is full of events including concerts, performances, fundraising events and festivals. Many of these events are attended by locals, residents of Florida, and guests traveling in from other states in the country. Some of the biggest events are even attended by visitors from across the sea.

Seating Chart

Mizner Park Amphitheater is a massive venue with plenty of room for visitors to enjoy high quality music. For most events this means room for 3,500 guests for seated events with reserved seating or 5,000 guests for standing room only general admission events. Please refer to the event description for details about your specific event.

Seating Sections at a Glance

For mixed events, seating is divided into multiple sections. Closest to the stage are four sections of reserved seating (A-D) with pre-set chairs that offer space, comfort, and an excellent view of the show. Acoustics and sound engineering also guarantees an intimate view and connection to the show as well as the clear and crispest possible sounds for all sorts of concerts and performers.

Behind the seating section is the general admission lawn space. These seats are arranged on a gradual slope so that those in the front are less likely to block the view of those in the rear. For most ticketed events, you may bring a blanket but may not bring lawn chairs. For events hosted by the city of Boca Raton, you can usually bring lawn chairs, though you should call the venue at 561-393-7700 to double check. We advise arriving as soon as possible if you order general admission lawn seating so you can choose the best space for you and your company.

On the sides of the venue are VIP Balcony seating that offers the best possible space and comfort for guests as well as a clear view of the action on stage and any extra services offered during the event.

Accessible Seating

Mizner Park Amp wants all guests to have a great time and believe that mobility issues should not get in the way. So the venue is willing to offer ADA-approved accommodations. Please contact the venue to request wheelchair and companion seating or any emergency accommodations you may need. We recommend calling no later than two weeks before the show to allow the venue time to prepare to help.

Once you arrive, you may ask staff about guest services for any assistance you may need.

Rules

Mizner Park Amphitheater is focused on keeping all of their guests and visitors safe and comfortable during their stay. So the venue has outlined a set of rules and policies that all guests are expected to follow. Please take the time to read and understand the rules below. Failure to abide by them may result in expulsion without refund. If you have any questions on these policies, you may contact the venue at (561) 393-7890.

Alcohol Policy

If alcohol is provided by concession stands, it will only be purchasable by patrons of 21+ years of age. All patrons will be carded before being served alcohol. Alcohol is not to be served to anyone below the age of 21.

Camera Policy

Video cameras, professional cameras with detachable or zoom lenses, GoPros, selfie sticks, and tripods are prohibited. Policies around point and shoot cameras vary by event and are up to the discretion of the tour or event organizer.

Cancelation Policy

Most events happen whether rain or shine and will start on time. However, if an event is canceled due to artist cancelation, severe weather, or Act of God, then please check your ticket and contact the ticketing agency or the promoter of the event regarding a refund or postponement.

Chair Policy

If the event is ticketed, you may not bring a chair, but you may be able to bring a blanket, please check your ticket for seating information. If you are attending a free event that is sponsored by the City of Boca Raton, you may usually bring a blanket or chair, but call 561-393-7890 to verify

Child Ticket Policy

Most events require all patrons to have a ticket, however, this will vary by event and is up to the discretion of the tour or event organizer. Please contact the ticket office for information on child tickets for specific events. 

Entry/Re-Entry Policy

For ticketed events, re-entry with the same ticket is not permitted..

Lost and Found Policy

If you lose something during a show, please contact Guest Services to see if your item was turned in. After the show, you may call City Hall at 561-393-7700.

Prohibited Items Policy

For the safety and comfort of guests, staff and artists, the following items are prohibited.

•          Air horns, noisemakers, whistles or similar items
•          Animals, except service animals assisting guests with disabilities
•          Backpacks, large bags, suitcases or sealed packages
•          Balloons, beach balls and other inflatable items
•          Computers, laptops or tablets
•          Professional-grade cameras and detachable lenses
•          Drones or other model aircraft
•          Drugs (illegal), including paraphernalia
•          Face paint and costume-type face masks. (Medical face masks allowed)
•          Flag poles or any support frames for banners/signs
•          Flasks, coolers, cans, bottles or any similar containers
•          Fireworks or explosives
•          Outside food and beverage including alcohol
•          Hazardous materials including chemicals and aerosols
•          Laser pointers, laser products or flashlights
•          Sealed or wrapped Packages
•          Selfie sticks
•          Skateboards, roller skates, roller blades, skate shoes or bicycles
•          Space heaters
•          Umbrellas
•          Video or audio recorded devices
•          Weapons of any kind; including but not limited to knives, guns, box cutters, pocket knives, blades, tools, mace, pepper spray, brass knuckles, stun guns, handcuffs, sticks, clubs, batons, explosives, and anything else staff deems unacceptable.

Any item management deems a safety hazard or would diminish the guest experience, including signs or garments deemed offensive

Weather Policy

Most events at the amphitheater are rain or shine, please check your ticket. While venue staff cannot allow umbrellas inside, you may want to bring a poncho or raincoat. Please obey instructions by staff if an emergency situation occurs.

Parking

Mizner Park Amp can be found at 590 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, FL 33432. This venue is easily reached if you follow instructions found on map making sites and software or with your GPS devices or apps. 

Parking Options

Many guests enjoy using rideshare services to get to the venue. However, if you prefer to drive in, then there’s plenty of parking available. However, as event-day parking can be busy we recommend you arrive no later than 40-60 minutes before the event start time listed on your tickets or in the event description. 

• Free parking – Is available just a short walk away at the Downtown Library (400 SW 2nd) and City Hall (201 W. Palmetto)
• On Street – Metered on-street parking is available
• Valet – Paid Valet service is available at several locations throughout Mizner Park
• Preferred parking* - *Paid, preferred parking is available on amphitheater concert nights in the lot adjacent to the amphitheater, and at the church behind the amphitheater (cash only)
