Lotta Lindgren, known by her stage name Léon, is a Swedish singer and songwriter born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Born into a musical family, Léon ’s mother is a cellist and her father is a composer and conductor. In her teens, she fronted a hip-hop and soul group, before embarking upon a solo career in 2015 with her producing partner Agrin Rahmani.
2015-2017: First EPs
In 2015, Léon released her debut EP Treasure, which features the single "Tired of Talking". The single garnered praise from the music executive and producer Chris Anokute, as well as Katy Perry, and it soon went viral, amassing millions of plays on streaming platforms. It was also certified gold in Sweden.
In October 2016, she performed at the 31st edition of Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Netherlands. In March of the following year, she released her second EP, For You, followed by her third EP, Surround Me, that October.
2018-2019: Debut album
Léon’s self-titled debut album was released in March 2019 via her own Léon Recordings in partnership with BMG Rights Management. It was preceded by the singles "Baby Don't Talk", "Falling" and the breakout song "You And I". The album was critically acclaimed and Léon embarked upon a tour of Europe, the UK, and the USA in support of it.
Léon released her sophomore studio album, Apart, in October 2020. The release was preceded by several singles, including "And It Breaks My Heart" and "Chasing a Feeling".
May 2021 saw a collaboration between Léon and Jonas Blue on the dance single "Hear Me Say", which quickly earned over 18 million plays on streaming platforms. She followed that September with the single “Dancer”.
Her third studio album, Circles, was released on March 4, 2022. It includes previously released singles "Dancer", "Soaked", "Fade Into a Dream", and "Wishful Thinking".
