ABOUT EST GEE

Born George Albert Stone III and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, EST Gee is a rapper and songwriter. Despite at one time considering a career as a professional football player, having been accepted into university on a football scholarship, and having briefly played on the CFL team the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2017, Stone found a love for music and decided to pursue it professionally. His change of heart came about when he was serving under a four-month house arrest and was inspired by watching Lil Baby perform on television.

CAREER

At first, he wrote and performed under the name "Big Gee", releasing his debut single "Stains" under that name and posting it to his YouTube account on December 17, 2017. He changed his name to EST Gee ("EST" standing for "Everybody Shines Together") and began earning a loyal fanbase on YouTube, uploading consistent releases.

He released his first mixtape, El Toro, in July 2019 and followed with a second, Die Bloody, in August. Just one month later, Stone was shot five times after filming a video in Atlanta, sustaining stomach injuries and visual impairment in his left eye. While he was in hospital, he began releasing singles that he had previously recorded: "Morals," "Taught Different," and "On the Floor." These singles later appeared on his next mixtape, Ion Feel Nun, which was released in March 2020 and began to gain traction on the rap scene and with critics. The same month of his mixtape release, Stone’s mother died due to leukemia and his brother died a week later in a shooting in Louisville. These tragedies inspired him to push harder into his career and he began to use his platform to talk about his experiences and his music in interviews online.

In December 2020, he released his fourth mixtape, I Still Don’t Feel Nun, which featured guest appearances from  Babyface Ray, Yo Gotti, and Jack Harlow.

EST Gee signed a deal with Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group (CMG), Interscope Records, and Warlike in January 2021. In March, he featured on Lil Baby's single "Real as It Gets", which became his first Billboard Hot 100 song, peaking at number 34.

His next mixtape, Bigger Than Life Or Death, launched him into the mainstream, debuting at number seven on the Billboard 200. The record features cameos from Future, Young Thug, Pooh Shiesty, Lil Durk, and more. He followed in December 2021 with a deluxe edition, Bigger Than Life or Death, Pt. 2.
