CAREER

2014-2018: Formation, breakthrough, and Heart vs Mind EP

Not long after its formation, the band began work on its debut EP. In December of the following year, they released a cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" on YouTube. The song was well-received, peaking at number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at number 23 on the US Mainstream Rock Songs chart. As of June 2022, the video has received over 71 million views. Later in December 2014, the band’s first two singles from their debut EP - "Love, Lust, and Liars" and "The Enemy" - were released. The EP, Heart vs Mind, was released in January 2015 and reached number nine on the Billboard Rock Albums chart and number four on the Hard Rocks Albums chart. March 2015 saw founding member and rhythm guitarist Jordan Berger leave the band due to other commitments. He was replaced by Dylan Bowman. The rest of 2015 saw the band touring extensively. They embarked on the Heart vs. Mind Tour and the Massive Addictive Tour, followed by The Crossroads Tour in the summer. They also opened for Crown the Empire and Hollywood Undead on the Day of the Dead Tour that fall and for Pop Evil that December.

2016-2019: Lifelines and touring

The band announced their headlining summer tour, the Strike a Match Tour, in May 2016. That June, they announced their second studio album, Lifelines. The album’s lead single, "Scars", was released on July 1, 2016. This was followed by "Stuck in Your Head" that August and "Come and Get It" that September. Throughout September and October, the band supported Pierce the Veil alongside Neck Deep on their Journey's Made to Destroy Tour. Lifelines was released on October 21, 2016, and debuted at number 15 on the Billboard 200. Bassist Tony Camposeo left the band in December 2016.

Late March/early April 2017, brought the band their first major overseas headline tour, which included sold-out shows across Australia. That May, Lee Runestad left the band. That fall and winter saw the band embark upon a headline tour with The Word Alive, We Came as Romans, and Escape the Fate. Following the tour, singer Brian Burkheiser was put on emergency vocal rest and temporary hiatus due to a serious vocal cord injury.

2019-present: Trauma and True Power

On February 26, 2019, the band released the lead single from their upcoming album, "Bow Down". Later that day, they released a second track from the album, "Breaking Down". The third single off the new album, "Paranoid," was released the following month while the band was performing in Australia for Download Festival. The album, Trauma, was released on March 2, 2019, and was the fourth-best selling album of the week in the US upon release, reaching number 14 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Top Rock Albums chart. That May, "Breaking Down" hit the top 10 of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Alongside Beartooth and Can’t Swim, I Prevail supported A Day to Remember on their Degenerates Tour.
