ABOUT JACK HARLOW

Born Jackman Thomas Harlow in Louisville, Kentucky, Jack Harlow began rapping as early as age 12. Armed with a Guitar Hero microphone and a laptop, he began recording rhymes and songs with his friend Copelan and they made the album Rippin' and Rappin', selling copies at their middle school. In seventh grade, he began using a professional microphone and made his first mixtape, Extra Credit, under the name Mr Harlow. Around this time, he was also part of the collective Moose Gang, with whom he recorded two unreleased mixtapes - Moose Gang and Music for the Deaf.

CAREER

2015-2018: Early mixtapes and Private Garden

Harlow’s first EP, The handsome Harlow, was released on Gill Holland's sonaBLAST! record label in November 2015. During this period, he regularly sold-out Louisville venues like Mercury Ballroom, Headliners, and the Haymarket Whiskey Bar and in March 2015, he opened for Vince Staples in Louisville.

Less than one month after graduating high school, in June 2016, he released the mixtape 18 – the first record released with his music collective/record label Private Garden, which he formed alongside his friends and regular collaborators the Homies, composed of Louisville rappers and producers Ace Pro, 2forwOyNE, Shloob, Quiiso, and Ronnie Lucciano. 2016 also saw Harlow perform sets at South by Southwest, Bonnaroo Music Festival, and the Forecastle Festival.

Harlow released the single "Routine" in summer 2017, followed by "Dark Knight" that October, which became the lead single on his mixtape Gazebo. After the mixtape was released, he went on the 14-date Gazebo tour to promote it, with The Homies as his opening act. The tour was completed in January 2018. That May, he opened for indie rock band Portugal. The Man on various dates on their tour. The following month, he was featured alongside Lil James and Sixteen on the Skeme song "Get Sumn".

2018-2020: Generation Now Records, Loose, and Confetti

In August 2018, in conjunction with Atlantic Records, Harlow signed to DJ Drama and Don Cannon's Generation Now record label. On the day that he announced the signing, he also released a video for his single "Sundown". On August 17, he released his major-label debut mixtape, Loose, featuring guest appearances from CyHi the Prynce, K Camp, 2forwOyNE, and Taylor. That November, he embarked on a month-long tour in support of Loose. Loose was nominated for Best Mixtape at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. "Thru the Night" featuring Bryson Tiller (a fellow Louisville native), was released on August 21, 2019. this was followed by the 12-track mixtape Confetti, which features Tiller, 2forwOyNE, and EST Gee.

2020-2021: That’s What They All Say

January 2021 saw the release of the single "Whats Poppin", which is the lead single from his second EP, Sweet Action, released in March 2020. The following month, he released a collaboration with G-Eazy, "Moana". In June 2020, Harlow released a remix of "Whats Poppin" featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne, which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. That August, he was included in XXL's 2020 Freshman Class. In October, he released the single "Tyler Herro", the lead single from his debut studio album, That's What They All Say. The album’s second single, "Way Out" featuring Big Sean, was released on December 9, 2020. Two days later, That's What They All Say was released. It debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 and features guest appearances from Lil Baby, Big Sean, Chris Brown, Adam Levine, EST Gee, Bryson Tiller, DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne. The album also hit number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It has been certified platinum in the US and Canada, and gold in New Zealand. In March 2021, Harlow appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. That month, he also released "Already Best Friends" featuring Chris Brown as the third single from his album.

May 2021 saw Harlow collaborate with Eminem and Cordae for the remix of Eminem's 2020 single, "Killer". In July, he released a collaboration with Lil Nas X, "Industry Baby", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The following month, he released a collaboration with Pooh Shiesty, "SUVs (Black on Black)".

2022-present: Come Home the Kids Miss You

"Nail Tech", the lead single from Harlow’s upcoming second studio album, was released in February 2022, debuting at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. On February 24, Harlow featured on Kanye West's song "Louie Bags" on his album, Donda 2.

Come Home the Kids Miss You, his second studio album, was released on May 6, 2022, and debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album’s second single, "First Class", became his second number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
