2013-2015: Cole Swindell
Swindell released his debut single, "Chillin' It", independently in March 2013. After it received heavy radio play, it drew the attention of Warner Music Nashville, who signed him that July and re-released the track in August. The song topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at number two on the Country Airplay Chart and number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.
His self-titled debut album was released in February 2014 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. It also reached number two on the Top Country Albums chart and has been certified platinum by the RIAA. Swindell opened Luke Bryan's 2014 That's My Kind of Night Tour alongside Lee Brice from January through October 2014.
"Hope You Get Lonely Tonight", which Swindell co-wrote with both members of Florida Georgia Line, was the album’s second single and was released in March 2014. It topped the Country Airplay chart and reached number seven on the Hot Country Songs chart. The album’s third single, "Ain't Worth the Whiskey," also topped the Country Airplay chart, and its follow-up, "Let Me See Ya Girl", reached number two on the chart.
On November 17, 2014, Swindell released a five-song digital EP titled The Down Home Sessions and embarked on a headlining tour of the same name.
